Red Shoes on Valentines Day

Ok, so it's past Valentines Day by more than a month, but I've been promising my mother a picture of my new red shoes. So here they are!!!

My darling (and Very crafty!) mother also made me a nice heart swag with family pictures on it to hang on our otherwise bare wall! Don't you think it goes nicely with the sag in our "couch"?

Trip to Darwin

Well, we are back from our lovely long weekend to Darwin in the Northern Territory. Darwin is about an hour flight from Kununurra. It was very humid and warm, and we had lots of rain while we were there! We stayed at a flash hotel/casino and had a really nice room and all the goodies that come along with it. We caught up with some pilots that Eldon knows from Kununurra and met a really nice group of friends.

This is the hotel from the beach at night. You can see a nice storm brewing behind it.

I loved the pink sailboat!

Our friendly neighborhood goanna walking across the lawn by the pool.

Finally, a storm!!!

Well, for the wet season, it's been pretty dry. We had our first major rain in weeks last night which knocked out all the power for an hour or so. I love storms! Anyway, tonight it is just breezy and cool with lots of lightning shows around us...here's some cool pictures from my weather-loving husband!

This was taken from the park next to our house. Lightning is amazing stuff!

Update on studying...

Well, I've done Keyboard Kinetics, Medical Word Building (which now qualifies me to build all sorts of interesting words, whether they are in the dictionary is another thing...) and I'm onto Grammar and Sentence Structure. It turns out that not only do we have to interpret what the dictator is saying and type it, we also have to correct their many grammar errors! The course material actually says "do not trust the doctor's grammar dictation"...! And it's my fault if it's wrong! What was I thinking!!! Wish me luck..

We are going to Darwin for a little 5-day holiday...stay tuned for pictures!

Studying...

Well, who would have thought that I would go back to school?!! Me of all people, who said I would never ever go back! :) Well, here I am, studying once again.

I am studying to be a Medical Transcriptionist. It's an online course so I can do it even in the outback! I'm still working fulltime so it's going to take me about 9 months to complete. I'm very excited though...I think it will be very interesting and challenging. I'm still on the first session...typing!!! Can't wait until that is over. I've passed the first test and have 2 to go...then on to the interesting stuff!

I'll keep you updated!
