Moving to Mt Isa

Well, I suppose some of you might have heard through the grape vine that we are heading to Mt Isa to live. Eldon has been offered a job up there so off we go! He will be flying for a company called West Wing . We are so happy to finally have somewhere to go and be settled again and make some money! We are in the midst of repacking and hope to be on the road by Wednesday this week.
We are kind of returning to the outback, but Mt Isa is quite a bit bigger than Kununurra. It is a town of about 20,000, mainly mining industry. West Wing has mining contracts and other charter work plus some RPT (regular passenger transport) runs all over Queensland.
Here is a link to a map of Queensland so that you can see where Mt Isa is. You can see Maroochydore right above Brisbane which is where we are at the moment. Mt Isa is inland almost to the NT border and north. The seasons will be very similar to Kununurra seasons with a wet and dry season.
Well, that's it for now...we will be without internet for a while until we are set up in Mt Isa...so until then...Take care!

Glad to hear of the job success! :) My former colleague was a Mt Isa man, he's now in Alice but talked fondly of the town.

Sounds like great news and doesn't seem to be so much in the middle of "nowhere". Hope it turns out to be another good move and a good job.
Love you and look forward to hearing more when you get settled in.

hummm, well after looking at the map in more detail.. I'm amazed at how small Australia can look and how close together I think things are. I see it's 22 hrs to Brisbane and 11hr to Townsville/the coast. I guess you are a bit out there. But at least you've been "there" before. I'd still love to come visit! Love you, Em
